1. Definite Article (the)

The definite article in English is "the". Definite article is usually followed by noun, we use them to refer to something that are known to the listener or reader. E.g

2. Indefinite Article (a & an)

Indefinite Article in English are "a & "an"
They are use with singular noun when the identity is unknown. "A" is used with singular words that begin with a consonant sound or a vowel pronounced as consonant.

Indefinite Article a turancin Ingilishi sune 'a' da kuma 'an', Ana amfani da sune tare da kalmomi waɗanda ba na jam'i bane idan ba a san ko waye ake magana a kansa ba. Ana amfani da "A" ne idan kalmar da zata biyo bayan shi ta fara ne da harafi ko kuma kalmomin da suke farawa da wasali amma sautinsu ya zo dai-dai da sauti na harafi.

He's a student in ABU.

But the indefinite article "an" is used with singular nouns that begin with a vowel sound or silent consonants.

Amma ana amfani da "an" ne tare da kalmomi waɗanda ba na jam'i ba idan harafin su na farko ya kasance wasali ne ko kuma harafi wanda ba a anbaton shi gurin furucin kalmar.
